Topic: Redesign proposals for the NHS Museum and Archive

Museum Designers and consultants Martin Lilford and Euan McGillivray presented their ideas and plans for the revamping of the museum. The most important aspect of this plan is the creation of a museum quality storage area to enable us to safely take and store precious objects off display and rest them, thus giving us more space for improved interpretation and displays.

The plan includes a proper working and research area for archives’ volunteers and visitors to enjoy access to our wonderful collection of documents and maps.

A small screening area for our many school and other groups plus meeting space is also on the plan.We have had 2 very positive meetings with Mornington Shire Councillors and Geoff Carson, manager of the Arts re how they might assist with funding..

BUT we now need to plan a professional fund raising campaign to enable this new exciting stage in the life of our special museum to actually take place. Watch out for details soon.
