Prince Albert Nov 19th 1840

Prince Albert is believed to have been the first vessel wrecked at Port Phillip Heads.

Schooner, 27/19 tons. Built Sydney 1840; reg. Sydney 70/1840. Lbd 36 x 12 x 5.8 ft. Master John Simpson.

Washed ashore in a gale about two nautical miles east of Point Nepean.

Four lives were lost.
